Favorite Purchases of 2021

Henleys: This cut of shirt is perfectly suited to my body type. It’s really hard to find great shirts that allow me to show off the work I’ve been doing in the gym, but these are THE cut. I love the button v cut, love how the sleeves fit my arms. Most people look like trash in these, but they are perfect for me.

A weekly pill container: I take allergy meds, turmeric, and magnesium nightly, and vitamin D in the morning daily. With this pill container, I can batch all of the pills into their day, and I can see if I’ve taken my supplements yet.

True nutrition protein powders: This stuff is amazing. You can determine the blend of proteins you want, add additional supplements. This is great for lactose-free needs. I use the Paleo Blend with Ashwaganda, electrolytes, and greens added.

Grip strengtheners: I bought this pack and just keep it at my desk while at work. I usually do some exercise while on video calls. I didn’t measure my grip strength before, but I know from increasing the dial on one of the devices that It’s increased.

MEEPO Electric Skateboard: This was an experimental purchase that turned out to be an amazing buy. It gave me a quick way to get around Jackson and learn the city. It also encouraged me to get outside and be in this new environment. There’s a solid chance of me upgrading to a more expensive board in the future.

Almost Heaven Barrel Sauna: During the height of COVID craziness, I converted a shed into a wood-burning sauna. This time, I researched all sorts of saunas and settled on a kit from Almost Heaven. Beautiful cedar wood, solid electric Harvia stove. I purchased the 4-person and think this is probably the perfect size for most use cases. My only complaint is that it’s challenging to get the sauna up to above 150 degrees. I will likely modify it with some insulation on the exterior of the sauna to see if I can get better heat retention.

DIY Cold Plunge: Coupled with the Sauna, I built a cold plunge out of a used chest freezer. I use an Inkbird thermometer to keep it at temp, an ozonator to keep the water bacteria-free, and a large fish tank filter to clean the water of debris. This has been a fabulous build and works basically flawlessly.

WAGO Lever Nuts: I’ve been doing mild electrical updating around the house and found several questionable wiring setups on the multi-switch outlets in the house. I used these clips to help test and rewire these items. I’m sure a better electrician would be able to bypass the need for these, but they gave me a ton of confidence during these repairs.

Pharmedoc pregnancy pillow: I injured my lower back doing deadlifts in April last year. This pillow was a lifesaver. It’s adaptable to many leg and head positions and prevents rolling over while you sleep. I went from basically rocking back and forth while I slept trying to get comfortable to very well-supported sleep and a recovered back because of this pillow.
