2025 Spring Goal Assessment

2025 Spring Goal Assessment

I'm right on track!

Based on my Published Goals, I've started 57 of my 107 public goals and completed 10 of goals. I have not started 40 of my goals.

Of the goals I've started but not completed, about half of them are continuous goals, which means they are not "complete" until the end of the year. For example, "Daily meditation" isn't completable, and at the end of the year, I'll be assessing whether I was able to establish a daily habit. I'm likely going to use some measure like "do it for over 3 months consistently" for that goal. Several of these continuous goals are well on track and others are more challenging and at risk.

This is exactly where I should be. I have some adjustments to make, and it's time to start doubling down on the longer term habits that will take time to get squared away.

Everything Else:

Already in Q1, I'm already finding new things I am trying to complete in the year, both from a professional and hobby level. I've added fishing to my kayaking, and am currently a big obsessed with meteor hammer and rope flow, along with a growing interest in FPV drones and DJ decks. I could adjust my goals to explore those, but for the time being, I'm going to continue playing with them and see if they are temporary or long term interests.

Additionally, this winter and on into spring has been a bit challenging in terms of brain fog. I've never quite kicked the fog from my bout of COVID a few years ago.. I just feel like I have less bandwidth and horsepower than I'm used to and it's weird to have some days that I'm more present than others. I'm looking into a few things that may help (weird one is low dosage nicotine seems to be highly effective for folks with long COVID brainfog), so hoping to break through this in the near term.

On a positive note, jiu jitsu has captivated my attention in a way that it hasn't since my blue belt. I'm obsessed and in love with teaching and exploring the art right now. It doesn't always come this easily, but the curiosity is flowing so easily into training.
